Online registration for summer 2005 begins May 9 for all students who are currently enrolled or adding to the school.
In 2004, 5,400 students enrolled in summer school. In summer 2002, 4,234 students enrolled.
"We expanded the summer school program last summer intentionally," said Jim Williams, interim vice president of Instruction.
This year Citrus has expanded the summer school programs by 10 percent, he said.
The enrollment may increase because Citrus is offering more courses, however it could also mean that the same number of students will just take more classes, Williams said.
Session I, May 23-July 30, offers transfer courses, Williams said. Session II, June 20-August 11, is directed more towards high school students who need to take general education classes. Session III, July 5-Aug. 11, is a combination of classes that are convenient for students enrolled in Session I to take back-to-back courses.
TeleReg is no longer an option during the registration process, said Elaine Seubert, Admissions Office assistant.
"The problem with TeleReg is that an enrolling student's schedule is final," Williams said. "With WebReg, a student can change that schedule even after registering."
The main way to register is through WebReg, however if a student experiences difficulties with the online process, a live operator can be reached for help. Staff will be available to walk students through the registration process, if necessary.
Students can also register in person at the Office of Admissions and Records beginning May 16 to May 18, 9 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Walk-ins can register only on or after the day and time of the student's registration appointment during office hours.
When students schedule classes for summer session, they should use these planning tips provided on the Citrus College website. If only one section of a course a student wants to take is being offered, the student should schedule that course first and plan the rest of his or her schedule around that single offering.
