The tournament was hosted by Chaffey and Citrus College and took place at Citrus' pool.
In their first game on Friday, Citrus defeated Mt. San Antonio College 7-5.
Tony Al and Jeremy Morales both scored two goals, and goalie Andy Weninger had ten saves to help Citrus defeat Mt. SAC.
"We played well by doing the things we wanted to do," said Citrus College coach Steve Smith.
"We came out inspired and we were up 4-1 in the first half," he said.
Smith said the water polo team had accomplished its number one goal of the tournament, which was to win the first game.
However, the Owls' second game would prove to be much tougher, as the team took on third ranked Long Beach City College.
Citrus stayed close up to the end of the first half as the score was 4-2, but then Long Beach rolled off nine straight goals to prevail with a deciding 13-2 victory.
Freshman Jeremy Morales scored the only two Citrus goals in the game.
"It's a tough tournament. We play against top ten quality teams," Morales said.
Long Beach player Milijan Colovic led the Long Beach attack with three goals, and Kyle Danoy helped with two more of his own.
Colovic, the dominating force for Long Beach, said that he felt good about leading his team to victory.
Long Beach co-head coach, Dave Kasa, said that the game was a learning experience.
"We had a lot of success even though we struggled in the beginning by giving up too many ejections," Kasa said.
Citrus took a one and one record going into Saturday's games.
The Owls lost their first game on Saturday to Cuesta by the score of 9-2, and won their second game against Chaffey, 8-5.
Tony Al scored three goals to lead Citrus' victory over Chaffey in their final game of the tournament.
The Owls finished the weekend with a two and two record, and a current ranking of 13th in the state.
"It's the best tournament we have played in top to bottom," Coach Smith said.
"We played well for being a young team and beat the teams we needed to beat. We can build from this tournament," he said.
The Owls' next home match is on Oct. 20 at 3 p.m. Entrance is free with an ASCC sticker.
