Dear Students:
Welcome to the fall 2004 semester at Citrus College. This eventful year promises to be one of growth, change and excitement.
As you have no doubt noticed, the Citrus College campus is bustling with activity.
We are doing everything in our power to create an environment that will inspire you to do your best possible work.
One way we are doing this is through the ten-year facilities master plan which provides for renovation of aging classroom buildings, replacement of inadequate and deteriorating infrastructure, as well as additional improvements to campus safety and security systems.
The first stage of this master plan, the construction of the new Math/Science Building, is already underway.
Another new addition to Citrus College is the Service Learning Program, which combines a commitment to community needs with identified learning objectives.
This program offers a range of possibilities from a one-time service experience (such as an organizational activity or special event) to working with an agency on a regular basis over the course of a semester.
If you choose to take advantage of this new program, the benefits could be limitless!
After all, the goal of service learning is not only to empower those being served, but to also empower those who serve.
As you settle in to your busy schedule this semester, I want to encourage you to take advantage of all the student services that Citrus has to offer.
Included are the Career/Transfer Center, Counseling & Advisement Center, Financial Aid Office, Learning Center (tutorial services), Extended Opportunity Programs & Services, Health Center and student activities such as campus clubs and student government.
On behalf of the faculty, staff and administrators of Citrus College, I hope you have a great semester!
