Situated within easy walking distance from Citrus College and Azusa Pacific University, Tommy's Burgers is sure bet for local students to enjoy.

Located at the intersection of Foothill Boulevard and Barranca Avenue, Tommy's is a small, independent restaurant identifiable by signage that proclaims it is "The Best Choice For Food." Tommy's offers a breakfast menu, hot dogs, salads, hamburgers, sandwiches, fried fish and Mexican food, at a reasonable price. Monday- Friday Tommy's is open from 7:30 a.m. until 8:30 p.m. On Saturday, business hours are 8:00 a.m. from 3:00 p.m. and Sunday Tommy's is closed. Tommy's takes phone orders for those in a hurry.

One of its most popular specials is the "Burger Combo", which features a hamburger, fries and a medium drink for  $4.99. For that craving a snack, Tommy's offers chips, fruit flavored ice cream and energy drinks ranging from one dollar to two.

On a recent visit I ordered a hamburger with fries for $4.49. The burger was topped with onions, tomatoes, pickles and a hearty portion of lettuce. The burger was nicely complemented with a thousand-island sauce. The seasoned fries were thoroughly cooked. The burger tasted great: delicious and just right. The patty looked fresh and thoroughly cooked. All the elements of a classic burger connected really well.

Tommy's employees converse with each other and with customers, as if they have known each other for years, something often unnoticed in other restaurants. After customers finish his/her food, a simple thumb-up to the cook is a sign that they enjoyed their meal.

With tasty food and friendly service, Tommy's Burgers is often a first choice for students and residents alike.
